One of the largest campaign rallies ever seen in the county took place on Monday night in Trim when up to 3,000 residents of Meath descended on Trim`s Knightsbrook Hotel for a public meeting organised by Meath Pylon Pressure, the group opposing the routing of Eirgrid power lines across the county. The extent of the opposition to the pylon and powerline proposal became obvious for the first time on Monday night, the first time all the communities across Meath affected by the proposed routes, came together to hear Professor Mike O`Carroll from the British group, REVOLT (Rural England Versus Overhead Line Transmission), set up to oppose such powerlines in the UK. from Meath Chronicle
