A Major meeting for all those affected by the proposed routes of a 400kV power line from Woodland to Kingscourt will be held in Knightsbrook Hotel, Trim, on 19th November at 8pm. All those who live within the corridors of the route options being put forward are invited to attend the meeting, which will be addressed by Professor Mike O`Carroll, who is chairman of REVOLT, a British group set up to oppose "unnecessary, excessive and intrusive powerline development". Professor O`Carroll was recommended as a guest speaker by Professor Denis Henshaw of Bristol University, who has carried out the most comprehensive studies into the effects of high voltage power lines on children. Up to 1,200 people are expected to attend the meeting, which is being arranged by the umbrella group set up to represent the various action groups throughout the county that oppose the powerline on massive pylons over ground. Representatives from each of the action groups attended a meeting in the Old Darnley Lodge Hotel, Athboy, on Monday night for the purpose of establishing the umbrella group. from Meath Chronicle
