How do people in Kiltale access the internet?

Postby daniel » Tue Oct 06, 2009 9:30 pm

Fast internet connections are not easily available here in Kiltale.
We want to find out how people around the area connect to the net.

Please take the time to take our poll and let us know how you connect to the Internet

I was involved in a startup a few years ago called TaraWAN. We continue to supply wireless broadband to about 30 users predominantly around Kilmessan.
Unfortunately TaraWAN is no longer accepting new subscriptions due to technical restrictions.

Would be interesting to gauge the demand for broadband in the area now.

Eircom told me that they have at least one subscriber on their lines (though not on eircom b/band) who is in Kiltale and on Tara exchange and receiving DSL. Do you know anything about this Daniel?

I heard about your TaraWAN venture before, although I didn't know it still existed.

It would indeed be interesting to see who now would be interested in the area, what are the options? I'm on 02 mobile 'broadband' and it's very unpredictable, though better than I expected.
